Pol- e Khaju

Esfahan / اصفهان‎

The Khaju Bridge was built by the Persian Safavid king, Shah Abbas II, around 1650 AD.
It has 24 arches, is 133 metres long and 12 metres wide. Local people come to sing under the bridge.
Unfortunately, the Zayandeh River has been dry for a few years now: the water is diverted upstream to irrigate the farmlands.
