I also forgot to change the SATA controller mode from IDE to AHCI.
I had to open the RUN dialog box by right-clicking over the far left-bottom corner of desktop, selecting the Run option and then typing MSCONFIG and Enter.
Click on Boot tab, check the Safe boot box, and click OK to restart the computer.
After restart, go into BIOS settings by pressing Delete, change the hard disk mode to AHCI, save settings on exit and reboot. Windows will now boot in safe mode.
Run MSCONFIG again, go to Boot tab, uncheck the Safe boot option and click OK to restart.
