Two-lined Burrowing Bug

The two-lined burrowing bug (Microporus nigrita), is a small, shiny black insect belonging to the burrowing bug family (Cydnidae).

It measures .11 to .31 inches long, lives mostly underground, and uses spined legs to dig through soil where it feeds on plant roots and seeds.
