I posed for this historical romance novel in 1979. The illustrator is Elaine Gignilliat.
It is the second book in the Leah trilogy.
The story follows a heartbroken Leah as she flees New Orleans and her Creole lover, Baptiste Fontaine, sailing north on a paddle-wheeler with James Andrews, the lawyer who saved her from the gallows.
