Southern Sudan 2005 by Isaac Majak

Isaac Majak's photographs of Sudan from his recent trip to Africa. Isaac is one of the Lost Boys of Sudan. He was separated from his family and home in 1987 when he was four. He came to the United States in 2001 from the refugee camp in Kenya. Now he is about 23 and this was his first trip back to Sudan to find his family and visit the village where he was born. He would really appreciate your comments and encouragement for his photography. He doesn't realize how talented he is! I met you today, and listened to your story. Tonight I am looking at your pictures. They are beautiful. I never thought I would meet someone like you, who had survived something so extraordinary. As a parent, I know that your father would be ecstatic to think that his son had survived, and had a chance to live a full life. This is a parent's fervent prayer. i'm sudneesand ifeel proud of you isaak realy you are talented and highly intelligent ,we do need someone like issak in sudan..someone who realy think of his family and village carry pasionate story and misery from the past reflected in art,this nice shots is great work isaak .

isaac, it's unbelievable that you have such fantastic photos which remind every lost boys of sudan back home. i really felt conected to our beatiful southern sudan when i see the pictures. i even identified some of the faces, some were goodfriends of mind likewise makuer makoi and marial nyadeeng.
otherwise, that really good effort.

i can't believe people are so evil. how can they live with themsleves seeing people dying, starving, and raped?! how can some people not know what is going on! people are pencil thin and their stomach's are bloated. i think this is awful
