Spectacular scenery all the way as we crossed the Italian border to see the distinctive formations of the Dolomites, where rugged peaks take the form of towers, belfries or domes. We spent some time in the ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo, host of the 1956 Winter Olympics. As the mountain colours changed to soft pinks, we headed for Bolzano. To quote John - "Unbelievable day of spectacular scenery in the Dolomites - it was mind blowing!" Many of these images were taken from inside a bus. We were too tired to take photographs when we reached Bolzano.
