The Unrecognized

In the Negev region of Israel there are thousands of Israeli Bediouns, all Israeli citizens, whose homes, property, and villages are not recognized by the government of Israel. They are engaged in an ongoing struggle to claim what has been theirs for centuries and maintain their lifestyle. There are currently 150,000 Bediouns living in 45 unrecognized villages and their homes can be destroyed without warning.
