What is so magnificent about this scene is that the tree, deader than a door knob, is really quite alive. I do not know if it is my fertile imagination or not, but it seems to me that this tree possesses an uncanny sense of humor and is giving a finger, one from each of his limbs, to all the lifeless green vegetation found in this decaying desert.
