Magnificient 4.8 Km High Matterhorn in Zermatt , Swiss Alps

Arguably the best picture of Matterhorn ever taken :-) ! That was gorgeous day and when we were at about 4.5 km altitude the temperature dropped to -5 Centigrade, yet when we've gone back down to Zermatt valley we experienced +28 !!!

I don't know about the 13th circle to Hell, but this is certainly an impressive shot of the Matterhorn! I've never seen in person or in pics, the mountain in so much blue sky and sunshine. Beautifully shot Eldar.

Yap, amigo, this was an apotheosis of my underworld ventures , and when I went back from Dante’s 13th circle of the hell, my diabolic heat managed to scorch every single living creature on the way, as you can see burned and devastated land in here (second best in existence image of Matterhorn ) http://www.pbase.com/eldarrio/image/51096759 ! I am not sure about schnops, but cascades of schnapps were just as powerful as Niagara Fall…

Hello Eldar. I am quite surprised that you did not mention why there was such a huge increase in temperature as you came back down the mountain. Many folks would guess, today, that it had something to do with "global warming." But the real reason was that you found there, located in those dark recesses, in the green valley, the secret portal to the under world itself... where Hades and devil himself reside. And you, o evil one, know this, as you are indeed the annointed guardian of this wickedly dark place... the brilliantly mesmerizing frame you constructed around this scene is symbolic of the portal.... the funky white-balled flower, in the bottom left corner, with finger-like petals is the tell-tale marker. On the surface it is a beatiful scene. In reality is a ploy for to trap unsuspecting pbase viewers into venturing deeply into your wild and evil world.... and join the fun. Where's the schnops? Michael.

Dima, you still have a chance as a mortal to climb Matterhorn, as it was done by one of the locals 350 (!) times. When he conquered this mountain last time he was 78 year old ! I can provide tips for guidance, if you want to get back from Matterhorn alive and in one piece, LOL !

Very impressive photograph! This rock is really Magnificient! What a pity, that it seems, that is impossible to climb up there for the mere mortals ;-)
