Having fallen 617 feet in a matter of seconds, icy water then flows through and over rocks and fallen trees in a rush to join the Merced River.
This vantage point along the trail to the bottom of the falls is still quite some distance away, yet the spray from the powerful fall made it as if it were raining. I had to work quickly to keep my lens from being covered in water drops.
