Tokae Festival is not a traditional festival, but a relatively recent event. It was first held in 1999, and has grown bigger ever since. This year, about 4,000 volunteers placed 20-30,000 candles in several spots in and around Nara Park. Beautiful to view, and photographically quite a challenging task.
