Today is the last day of carnival, so probably a funny picture would have been more appropriate. Avian flu is certainly a very serious theme, but there is also quite a bit of unnecessary panic-making in the way it is treated in recent media reports.
Currently all ponds in Vienna's parks are closed off with these red and white plastic bands. Whether the virus is really impressed by such countermeasures remains to be seen, though....
