Monument Valley

Our third trip to this special place was the best. We got there just after noon and spent most of the rest of the day on the loop drive, visiting the prominent sights accessible without a tour. For a photographer, this place is heaven with the many views and the changing clouds, light and colors. We stayed at the new View Hotel, aptly named for the wonderful views of the valley. That night, we sat on our balcony and watched a fantastic lightning storm. The next morning, Mike and I went out at 5:20 with Garry Holiday to get some sunrise shots. They are really special! Later that morning, the four of us went on a tour to spots only available to licensed tours.
