After visiting the Galapagos, we went to Peru, starting in Cusco. Our arrival there coincided with the weekly Sunday parade. Following the parade and lunch, we went to Pisac for the Sunday market, then to a wonderful hotel, Sol y Luna where we each had our own circular bungalow set among a sea of flowers. Our next stop was the Sanctuary Hotel just steps form the entrance to Machu Picchu. We spent an afternoon there and all of the next morning, culminating in a hike to the Sun Gate. Back to Cusco, we then stayed at the Monasterio hotel, a real treat. We had a wonderful time!
