This Dipper was nesting behind the waterfall and had come out and stayed still just long enough to give me the once over (and my chance to photograph him) before flying off to collect food for his young.
I soon retired to a place where I wasn't so obvious, to allow him to resume the constant in and out of the nest that raising his family demands.
