St. Louis Zoo, I got there early Sunday morning, parking was easy and the crowds were light. Late season sunlight had a different quality. Animals were active yet relaxed.
The Pentax K10D is currently my most sophisticated digital SLR body. For most of these shots I used the standard 18 - 55mm zoom. For a few, notably the flamingo shots, I used a very old Accura Supertel 135mm lens, f:2.8, in T-Mount with Pentax K Mount adapter. This is a thoroughly manual lens, but I do like it.
All shots are existing light, no flash assistance, and hand held, no tripod. The Pentax body has built-in antishake image stabilization, and I was able to push the ASA setting to 1600 inside the birdhouse.
