Argus White and Silver Model A

This is not to be confused with the wonderful Ivory and Gold Model A crafted by Mike Reitsma and Pam Buckley and now housed in the Argus Museum in Ann Arbor.

But this one is, as far as I know, a one of a kind.
It came together the last couple of weeks, and was a collaborative project..
Wesley Furr EXPERTLY 3D printed the body of white plastic.
I then proceeded to "flesh it out" with appropriate First Variant metal and glass hardware from my own collection (Edmund J. Kowalski).
It is a "working" model, but it will not work with film for a few reasons.
First of all, as I worked through it, I concluded that it would be virtually impossible to avoid light leaks. The white material does not just transmit light, it also diffuses it, in every direction. There are so many routes light could take into the film chamber, through nooks and crannies and indirectly around the bends, that simply painting the inside is not so simple.
I also learned that with the early variant Model A body design, the film rewind knob is not just screwed together with its shaft, it is pressed together, and I could not extract it and reinsert it without breaking off the tangs from the inner yoke.

On the plus side, most parts fit easily... and it passed a focal plane test, for very accurate focusing!
