Today we decided to visit the St. Louis Veg Fest, held at the World's Fair Pavilion in Forest Park.
I know what it is like on a summer weekend in Forest Park.... parking problematic, sometimes impossible. Or you might find a space curbside, only to get hemmed in with other cars parked right on up to your bumper. But as a member of the St. Louis Zoo, I have parking privileges on the Zoo's lot, and I was right in thinking that non member park visitors would be reluctant to pay the $15 fee.
From there, it was about 2/3 mile to the Veg Fest, on a merciless hot day in the mid 90's sun. But we survived.

I carried along a Pentax K10 D with 18 - 55 mm lens that I had just purchased in online auction dirt cheap. After cleaning off the dirt and adjusting the settings, it was time for a test.
Settings seem mostly okay, maybe still a little soft in the imaging.

Since the entrance to the Zoo was along the way, I captured a few frames there. The hungry meat eating shark seemed somewhat appropriate for a visit to the Veg Fest.

Veg Fest had copious booths and vendors, all with the meatless lifestyle theme.
There was quite a crowd, largely packed into the World's Fair Pavilion itself, where most of the food was located.
