Trains with Olympus Stylus 1010, 112709

Black Friday in Saint Louis was a bright sunny mild day, with high contrast and deep shadows.
I took a quick trip to the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis County to test out some antique lenses, and carried my Olympus Stylus 1010 pocket digital for use after my film ran out.

Some results are below. I found the proparation for posting them to be a little tricky... I know how my monitor is calibrated, but I don't know how these will look on yours (I find most people's monitors display images overly dark for my taste), and I wanted to pull out some of the shadow details to share, without overly compromising other values such as color balances. I hope these work well enough for all of us.

Number 0077 Was there not a song written about this Engine, In Liverpool in the Fifties
all the Skiffle Groups use to sing it Including Th Quarry Men.
If I remember it Went like this
" Now they gave him is orders at Monroe Virginia" Or Have I remembered the wrong Song

All came through on my monitor in good color, bright and sharp. You and the
Olympus performed well. Hope someone will come forth with the love, hard work
and $$$ to put the units right again. It might get done if enough folks see
your photographs.

Nice pix. Trolley's interesting, Denver never had any that modern, they discontinued the service in 1950 still running older stock. Now they're putting in light rail, much more expensive but great service.

Little digital camera done you right Ed. Shadow detail is fine at this end. Shame something isn't being done to prevent all the rust eating those units up. Years to come, they'll change fast. Love 0150.jpg.
