Three Dollar Lens, Pentax 28-90

On the way home from an appointment I stopped at the Goodwill on Route 66 in Crestwood.
They have a locked tall display cabinet with some of their cleaner things near the checkout.
I happened to be looking at the same time as this other guy. When the case was opened he was checking out a gaming platform and said he was also interested in another item... which I already had in my hands. It was a late generation Pentax high featured 35mm camera with SMC-Pentax-FA 28-90 mm lens, f/3.5.
We had a quick conversation. He was more interested in the body, I was more interested in the lens.
So we decided to share. At checkout he paid the 6 dollars for the kit, then removed the lens and handed it to me, as I handed him 3 dollar bills.
Worked out nicely.
The lens is reasonably fast for a zoom, and the range with my 2/3 sensor digital bodies will be the equivalent of 42mm - 135mm. Might be a good "zoo camera."
Test was with a Pentax ist d 6.1 megapixel body, in the backyard. Autofocus, aperture priority, set to ASA 800.
Here it is almost December and I was out there in a t shirt. Pretty crazy.
