Pentax SP at Museum of Transportation and Caffenol

I picked up this camera years ago when the St. Louis Camera Show was held at the Harley Hotel in Earth City. Camera was probably pretty cheap. Kind of battered, and the through the lens meter no longer works, but I always had a good feeling about it and enjoy the opportunity to shoot with it.

The Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SP was a very early metered body by Pentax, and introduced in 1964. A long line of revered models are descended from it.

February 4 was a cold but clear day, and I loaded the SP with a fresh roll of Kodak ASA 200 color film. The f:2 / 55mm lens I mounted to the body was about the cleanest m42 Screw mount for Pentax I could find on my shelves.

So, I headed for the Museum of Transportation to see what the camera would see.
No, I did not buy a raffle ticket for the 1994 Mercedes S-Class luxury sedan. It has a V12 under the hood!

Saturday evening I went to work with my current recipe for Caffenol, using common safe household ingredients as developing and fixing agents.
Caffenol renders all film types as monotone. I add the sepia tone to the images in software.
