Agfa Silette in Mastodon Park and Kimmswick

This Agfa Silette is the first version, from 1953.
It is rather typical of the solidly built consumer cameras that came out of Germany during that period.
Features include Agfa Apotar f:3.5 / 45mm lens, Prontor SVS shutter with B and speeds 1 -> 1/300, manual focus from 3 feet to infinity, lever wind with film counter within the lever, "cold" shoe for flash with pc type flash wire socket on camera front, and a big bright viewfinder (no rangefinder).

After cleaning and repair, I loaded it up with a roll of Fuji 200 print film and headed out to test it at a couple of places locally.
Mastodon State Park protects a site that is significant for paleontology and archaeology. In the 1920s proof was first found there that Clovis culture humans and mastodons coexisted in the Pleistocene era and encountered each other, some 14,000 to 10,000 years ago.
A trail leads down through forest and bluff area representative of Eastern Missouri environment, with long wooden staircases for part of the descent, to where bones were discovered beginning with the early 1800s. Up on the rim is a nice museum building.

Trail images were captured with available light and hand held.
Some images inside the museum were hand held available light (f:4 or so @ 1/5 second) and a few were with electronic flash (f:8 @ 1/300).

To finish off the roll, I stopped by nearby Kimmswick, which is one of the oldest European people settlements west of the Mississippi.
