Pentax ES and Caffenol

The ES in Pentax ES stood for "Electro Spotmatic." It was near the end of the long line of Spotmatic variants, and said to be one of the earliest 35mm SLR's with fully automatic Aperture Priority shutter control. Shutter curtains are made of cloth, like all of the earlier variants. Lens mount is Universal m42 Screwmount.

My example has a metering system that no longer functions correctly. However, the camera also features manual mechanical override for speeds from 1/60 to 1/1000.

I mounted a Domiplan f:2.8/50mm lens (presumably East German made) and loaded a roll of Kodak asa 400 color film.
So, Japan meets East Germany meets Rochester New York.
My plan was to develop with my recipe for Caffenol chemistry, and rated the film @ asa 200 in anticipation.
I shot everything hand held and available light.

The set began at the National Museum of Transportation, and ended here at home.
