The Pentax ME was introduced in 1979. It is compact, mostly metal, manual focus, aperture priority auto exposure. It can also work without battery at speeds of 1/2000, 1/100, and B.
Before I had any digital bodies, this was one of my favorite models for everyday shooting.
The shutter and meter were not always reliable, and I acquired a number of them second hand.
Last week I pulled this black bodied example from my collection, loaded it with Kodak 200 process C-41 color film, and exposed the roll at Claire Gempp Davidson Conservation Area and at home.
After shooting most of the roll with a Pentax SMC-M f:1.7/50mm lens I finished up in our Elf Garden with a Pentax SMC-M f:3.5/135mm long lens.
Yesterday I developed the roll in Caffenol. The "chemicals" in my recipe include coffee, Vitamin C, washing soda, and table salt. Developing time was 7 minutes and fixed in saturated salt solution for 3 hours.
Rather than picking and choosing my favorites I decided to post the entire roll of images. This shoot was in part an experiment to see what sort of subjects speak best with the Caffenol process. I think strong compositional elements help demonstrate Caffenol's best suit.
