I was contemplating two recent acquisitions, an Argus M21 Markfinder and an Argus C-four with Geiss modified lens mount. Both cameras were rather rough, and the C-four was nonfunctional because it had a broken shutter actuator link lever, a part basically non available.The M21 is late production, the C-four is an early one. I suddenly realized that meant the coarse knurling on the knobs was similar, which led to a plan to combine the two cameras.
The result was a Model M21 with Geiss modified lens mount, ready for C-four lenses with the Geiss mount. I have never seen one, have you?

The rebuild was not easy, with a number of roadblocks along the way. There were differences between the two models in film-to-front-of-shutter-blade-assembly differences. The C-four lens does not have distance markers on the lens itself, so I had to calibrate such and mark them. (Notice the bonus of close focusing to 2 feet and less, without a rangefinder dial to restrict the gear travel). And there was a last minute sudden failure of the shutter main coil spring, so that the body had to be disassembled one more time for repairs.

The 100 mm Tele-Lithagon lens came in the box with the C-four. It was also rough, and needed internal optics cleaning. The focus was completely off, and had to be calibrated from scratch.
Now I think it is all ready for a film test when the weather cooperates.
