Vivitar Lens Test 081913

Saturday at Belleville Flea Market I paid a few bucks for an old Pentax K1000 35mm camera.
Attached to the camera body was an old school lens, Vivitar 28 - 210 mm Macro Focusing Zoom with Pentax K/A Mount. It was the lens that sold me on the deal.
When Pentax went digital with their SLRs, they kept the same basic lens mount, and so the new DSLR bodies are backward compatible to work with virtually any K Mount lens ever made. And the "A" on this lens means that it will support the automatic exposure modes of a modern digital body.

When I cleaned up the lens, I found there was a small degree of damage visible on the front coating. So I mounted a good UV filter hoping it would cancel out the coating flaws.

This evening I decided to give the lens a quick test at home, and mounted it to my Pentax K100 D digital body, shortly before sunset.
Results below... I think it did pretty good for an Old School lens on a more contemporary camera body.
