Kodak VR35 K10 at the Museum of Transportation.

I exposed a roll of 36, Kodak Max 400 of uncertain age from my friend in Oregon, testing out a 1986 model Kodak VR35 / K10 point and shoot that was sent to me from my sister's podiatrist in Pennsylvania.

Camera came to me with top corner shattered... I did a little rough but effective repair, see below...
Super glue in the cracks, two layers of packaging tape then two layers of electrical tape over the gaping hole.
Trimmed with a box cutter.

This Kodak was sort of likeable.
Manual film advance, so no motor noise.
Autofocus was fast, but no override.
Good clear viewfinder with brightline brackets, easy to aim and compose.
No way to shut off flash, unfortunately. Flash is always on "auto." Although there is a button to add fill-flash in bright background situations.
Camera could be held very steady when squeezing shutter, due to strange boxy shape that actually fit my hands.
Camera uses square type "transistor radio" style 9 volt batteries... I feel that is a nice plus.
But the design elements, and the way the entire front must flip up to uncover the lens, do scream "amateur" rather than professional.
On the bottom it says "Made in Japan, Eastman Kodak Company."
In an ebay auction someone said that this series was Kodak's return to 35mm cameras after a 17 year absence in the market. Don't know if true.

Yesterday 29th December was a beautiful day to visit the Museum of Transportation, 60 degrees F, clear and calm.
