Rockford Beach, Big River, near House Springs, Missouri, was once the site of a grist mill. The mill was torn down in the 1960's but the mill dam remained, repaired and rebuilt several times.
I scored this Pentax K110 D body for a bid price I could not pass up. After cleaning it up, it needed a test outing, so I coupled it with the Tamron 28 - 105mm lens which had already proven its effectiveness.
Saturday was a perfectly beautiful late summer day, so I took the time to drive out to Rockford for image testing.
The camera body was somewhat hesitant on autofocus and the mode wanted to drain the battery, but manual focus mode was fine, with focal confirmation working well.
Dust on the sensor was evident but did not pose much of an issue in most images. I can clean the sensor when I get a chance using an air bulb.
Lens performed as it should.
Overall, I was quite happy with some of the images.

What is the insect in pic 9312 and 9316. Nice walk. Were the fishermen by the danger sign? Love the frog and flowers.

Looks like a peaceful, tranquil area - good fishing probably too. The frog appears happy.
