Bob,
These homemade adapters have no electronics to them and do not introduce delay. I wired them very simply, straightforward connections between the metal posts and the contacts on the hot shoes or PC plugs. Some of them, I used plastic film cannisters for the body. Others, I cut a short piece of PVC tubing and drilled the two holes in the side, and capped with plastic furniture leg tips. No wiring diagrams, just two wires going from point A to point B. After assembling them, I filled the insides with glue, to keep them stable.
To make them work with Argus C3, I had to open up the cameras and adjust the flash contacts by rotating the brass plate on the cocking armature to change the point where contact is made.
Hope I can make it to AA in October again.
