Illinois with Olympus XA August 2007

On recent weekend trip to Springfield, meeting with James Surprenant of Rhode Island, I had three cameras loaded with film.
Camera Number Three was a tiny Olympus XA pocketable 35 mm.
This one was given ASA 200 generic color print film (local supermarket's labeling).
The Bel Aire Manor, and the red Chevrolet, were on South 6th Street in Springfield, along the former path of Route 66.
Midway between Springfield and St. Louis I happened upon this really bizarre antique mall, converted from a school gymnasium.

None of these were flash photos. All were done hand held with available light.

A great selection of photos that shows the versatility (in the hands of a talented photographer, of course) of the XA, one of my all-time favorite pocketable cameras.

GOSH That 05 The Red Impalai, If I had that parked outside our house, I'd be the talk of the wash house for months, I just love it, We dont see many of those over here. although we do have our Jags ,Bentleys, and Rolls Royce's Which I think you would agree are a match. all together Ed a very nice set of Prints. Love the red Impala. Could be right off the showroom floor but for the missing rear wheel cover. Great color rendition in all the photos. You did a good job of handholding at slow speeds under avail. light. Indeed a strange shop with hank, the grey jacket lady and tall boy in residence. That XA is a super camera in the hands of a perceptive operator. Thanks for sharing.
