Today was a dry and beautiful day, and I could not pass up the opportunity for a quick trip to check on Big River at Cedar Hill. I had not visited since last year.
I took along a Pentax K110 D and 18 - 55mm lens.
This body has a broken autofocus, so all images were manual focus and hand held.
There has been a lot of recent rain, and Big River was running fast and furious and near flood stage. The mill dam was not even visible.
The mill building is still standing and the doors were open, but I stayed at the doorway, not trusting the condition of the ancient floor boards.
My last session with this camera I had it set for +1 over exposure and I forgot to reset it.
But I was able to work with the new images in software.
Great pictures!!!! I think that we went to that area when the water level was much lower!!! Mill pictures are beautiful!!! Great shadows!!! The sun was just right!!!!

The Mill still looks good. Yes, the water is really high. Nice day though.

The colors in the water looked pretty and shimmery. I remember you took me to the old mill to see it. Looks a lot worse now. What a shame!
