Prewar Argus A with Fenton Old Town Flood

Mid June, 2019.
I loaded a roll of Kodak 200 into a prewar Argus Model A and went to check out the flooding in Old Town section of Fenton, Missouri, after taking a practice shot in my backyard.

Camera is circa 1938, from a later variant with the round deco style shutter trip, less than 15,000 of this variant made. Black bakelite body. 35mm film use. Simple optical viewfinder, no rangefinder.
Lens is uncoated f:4.5 / 50mm. Shutter runs from 1/25 to 1/200. Pop out lens barrel, two position focus, Far and Near. This one lost its serial number tag.

The flood waters of the Meramec River were not far from their crest in Fenton.
It was a dim overcast day, getting ready to rain some more.
Exposures were hand held, I was on my feet.

Film went to Parsons Kansas for developing. Return trip the packet accidentally went to Las Angeles before coming back to me here, so it took a few weeks for me to see the results.
The cleaning and repair work I did on the camera paid off in the Images.
