Recent weather must have been just the right recipe for a good Fall showing here around High Ridge area.
Today I visited Pleasant Valley Preserve (it is actually on a spur of High Ridge), carrying an Argus A loaded with Kodak, and a Pentax digital body with a lens recently rescued from Seattle Goodwill.
And a good number of the trees up there were at peak color. Sky was clear blue, sun was bright, there was a bit of wind singing in the leaves, and the trees were glorious.
When I got back to the gate and the parking area, I turned to see a big guy walking out behind me carrying a guitar. We got to talking, about the weather and the sound of the wind, and I told him I did not hear him playing. He said he had been up a different trail than me, and over the crest of a hill. He tried to take a Selfie with a colored foliage background and guitar in hand, but his cellphone battery was dead.
My film will go to Dwayne's in Kansas.
Meanwhile I sorted through 106 digital files, picked my favorite 24 (like a roll of film), and put together a gallery for sharing.
