Exa (Type 4) with Tessar on Easter Weekend

Exa (Type 4), IHAGEE Kamerawerk, Steenbergen & Co. (Dresden, East Germany; made from April of 1956 until May of 1959.
I found this little guy cheap at the St. Louis Camera Show.
It was complete with a good eyelevel prism (removable), seemed sound mechanically, but had no lens and lacked most of its leatherette covering.
I cleaned it up, and decided that with the interesting texture of the underlying metal of the body, it looked pretty good without all of the skin, and left most of it bare. But I could not resist adding the red panel to the back.
Someone else had glued the accessory shoe to the top of the prism, and I left it in place.
This camera loads standard 35 mm film. The mirror actually works as part of the shutter, and descends into place when camera is wound for next frame. Speed range is 1/25 to 1/150 second plus B. There are sockets for either F or X flash synchronization.

I mounted a genuine Carl Zeiss Jena f:3.5 / 50mm Tessar lens, and it was ready for action. Lens focuses down to about 2 feet for closeups, and gets even closer with a little mount adapter I already had.

This weekend I loaded up with a roll of Kodak 200.
First stop was the area around the train station in downtown Kirkwood, MO.
From there I made a short stop at the Laumeier county sculpture park.
Finally, I finished of the roll at home, inside and outside.
