Last week I was in the mood to shoot some Argus. I pulled one of my earliest examples of the C4 off the shelf, Serial Number 0251282. early Fifties.
It is kind of a transitional piece, showing a carry over of features and details from prior Argus models, the prewar A3 and the postwar Model 21: with the old style of latch at the bottom, the circle design in the middle of the back where the A3 used to have its exposure calculator, and the round rear finder window, the M-F flash sync selector switch, speed dial 10 - 200 instead of 10 - 300, and large knurling on the knobs like the Model 21.

I loaded it with Fuji 200 film and headed out to Cedar Hill.
The old mill building is still standing on its perch on Big River, showing some ravages of neglect, and the dam is in poor shape.
But the setting was very peaceful.
I finished off the roll of film later in my backyard.

Camera was smooth and a joy to work with. Lens was as sharp as could be. and I was happy with my results.
Why would I not love this camera?
