Dollar Argus C3

I won this camera online for a one dollar bid.
Auction description said:
"Argus camera rough shape Probably good for parts."
It arrived in an envelope rather than a box.
Yes, it was rough, especially some of the plating on the m etal work.
But when I removed surface dirt from the lens, I found all elements of the lens assembly to be pretty pristine. So I decided to take a little time to partially restore the camera, at least to usable condition if not excellent cosmetically.

This morning I loaded it with a roll of Kodax Gold 100 (a fairly slow film seemed appropriate) and headed out.

Negatives came back looking mostly pretty "thin," and most images were somewhat off in color.
What happened? Many possibilities here...
Could be that in the field, actual shutter speeds were a lot faster than they tested here in the studio. Or maybe something had happened to the roll of freezer film while in storage. Or maybe it was a chemistry thing in my local one hour lab, since they are winding down operations, ceasing in house film development within the week, so maybe they are not so diligent about machine maintenance?
However, images WERE mostly very sharp, with the camera focal systems right-on.
And as usual, working with an Argus C3 can be a true joy!

So I played with the scans a little in software...
and here is what I got.

Note the mass gathering of turtles on their little "beach."
