I was in Pittsburgh on family matters, and could not turn down an opportunity for a quick visit to the Carnegie Museum on Forbes Ave. in Oakland District.
I needed my "dinosaur fix," and they have one of the world's best collections.

Parking was terrible, the museum lot was full, but I found paid curbside parking about two blocks away.

The tall building is the most iconic structure on UP campus, the "Cathedral of Learning," a 42 story Gothic style classroom and administration building, built during the 30's Depression. It was originally planned to be 52 stories, but they ran short on cash during construction and did a subsequent redesign.
Inside the museum we headed straight to Dinosaur Hall, since we had limited time on the parking.
After the dinosaur and early mammal exhibits we headed upstairs to the more contemporary animal dioramas.

We only scratched the surface of the museum's expansive displays and collections.

Images with "pentax" in the name were with a K100 D digital body plus manual focus SMC-A f:2.8/28mm lens.
Images with "olympus" in name were with my pocket sized Olympus Stylus 1010 digital.

ALL shots were hand held, and with available (mostly dark) lighting.
