Argus C-four Geiss in Forest Park

I have to say, of all the many different classic Argus camera models the C-four remains my favorite for making photos.
This particular example was cleaned and repaired by me. It has the Geiss America third party modification for lens interchangeability. It also has a few minor modifications of my own, such as an assist for rewinding the film, a cap for making film winding easier, and an extension to make the shutter release easier to access.

Forest Park in St. Louis is definitely one of the best urban spaces in America, with major attractions and institutions, beautiful scenes, room for recreation and relaxation. I had not been there in at least a year and a half due to pandemic concerns. Last week I made a short visit after loading the C-four with a fresh roll of Kodak 400 color film.
First stop was the Jewel Box conservatory. Members of the St. Louis Water Lily Society was busy in the hot sun doing maintenance in the ponds.
From there I drove on to the Art Museum, the Nathan Bandstand, some of the lagoon bridges (the great white egret took flight just as I was framing my shot), the facade of the Missouri History Museum, and the World's Fair Pavilion.
There were just a few shots left on the roll, which I finished off while visiting Powder Valley Nature Center in Kirkwood.

Film was developed at home with the Caffenol process, using safe, readily available household products for the "chemistry."
Caffenol renders all films in a monotone. The sepia tone was added by me in software after scanning the negatives.
