Argus C3 "Giant"

This is as rare as they get.
I only know of one other C3 Giant, and it is in the Argus Museum.
As far as I know these were crafted in the 1950's for use as advertising displays by a select few camera dealers. There were Giants of the C3, C4, A-four, Argoflex 75, and maybe other models.
Experts in the ACG know more about the history than I do.

Anyway, I stumbled across this one in a late Friday evening auction by sheer luck, and jumped on it. Seller had a low feedback score, but it was the real deal, and got to me in the mail very quickly.

It came with a working actual C3 camera of about the same variant.
Dimensions of the Giant are exactly 2.5 times each linear measurement.
It is considerably heavier in mass than one might think. I put it on my postal scale, which bottomed out, the weight of the Giant somewhere more than 10 pounds.
Construction appears very solid, mostly hardwood joined together, with some metal and a little glass. The interior is a mystery.

A few parts, as you see, are missing in the depths of time. Fabrication of missing parts may be in the making. More details on that later.

No one else has seen this Giant since shipping, except for my family and Wesley, who was in St. Louis for the weekend.

Please click on thumbnails to see enlarged. I resized the individual images for easy loading and viewing.
If anyone needs to see any particular view in high resolution, let me know.

Thanks! Ed
