I attempted to repair this well-worn Pentax ME Super body for a friend, but in the end did some collateral damage and removed some small parts. I kept it and sent Richard a different body.
The Promaster lens is a very recent acquisition. It arrived in a severely damaged state, the aperture coupling was pushed into the body of the lens and one of the mounting flanges had a piece broken off. Lens is remarkable in its extensive use of lightweight plastic and simple, rather flimsy construction. I disassemnbled the rear mount, reset the aperture coupling ring, and decided to leave the broken mounting flange the way it was.
Were the camera body and lens still capable of producing decent images?
Apparently so.
I gave them a test with a roll of ASA 200 CVS branded print film at the monthly Belleville, Illinois, flea market.

A mild and clear November day yielded a large and active crowd at the flea market, with lots to see.
The display of large earthenware urns was particularly remarkable. The guy told me that he purchased the lot from Europe. Authentic, and ancient, all are more than 1,500 years old, some of them much older.
