Belleville with Pentax MV 061513

Monthly Belleville, Illinois, Flea Market, where you might see just about anything.
I was carrying an old favorite, a Pentax MV body, coupled to a fast Ricoh f:1.4 / 50mm lens, and loaded with a roll of Kodak 400 MAX.
The MV allows you to choose either 1/100 speed and manual control of lens aperture (this is the setting for use of electronic flash attachments), or Auto Mode, which is Aperture Priority, you set the lens aperture for desired DOF and camera meter determines the shutter speed.
All shots here are hand held and with available light, indoor and out.
It was a joy shooting with this old film camera, it just handled more intuitively than a digital body.
But the film was a bit old, old when it went into my freezer, and results were noticeably grainy. Film age, or a characteristic of the MAX series Kodak film?
