This camera was a recent acquisition from an online auction.

I have this info from Ron Norwood:

"You have the Petri version Argus STL-1000 sister/brother. You also have the virtually unknown Argus TTL or Spiraflex TTL. Both were in black only. When Argus-Cosina contract was cancelled in 1974-75 Argus went to Petri and a relabeled FT II with screw thread was a replacement for the STL-1000. (About the same time Cosina started making Petri labeled cameras on their bodies.) The Argus TTL is a weird customer as it possibly was a private label brand for department stores, etc. Have only seen a few of them and there's no good source material on it.
Guy at KEH Photo wrote a book on SLRs and included a line on the TTL and I asked him where he got his info. He guessed in his reply as he no longer had access to his notes. I don't have a listing for the Automat so I guess it is another private label. The body was also labeled for the Exakta TL-1000."

I gave the camera a good cleaning, and replaced some of the foam rubber seals.
Meter was still working well.

This morning I took it out for a film test, with a roll of Kodak asa 200... very hot day, heading for 100 degrees, so I was not out long and finished my session before Noon.
After shooting most of the roll in the cool woods, I stopped by the Meramec River to document our late summer drought.

The ding in the front of the lens rim made it difficult to mount any filters, so film test was without a UV filter, on a high UV day.
