Adams by Leidolf at Missouri Botanical Garden, January 2018
This camera was made in Germany by Leidolf, probably for USA distribution, with "Adams" name logo in front opening where one might expect to find secondary rangefinder window.
Early to mid 1950's production date.
Simple viewfinder, no rangefinder incorporated.
Focus manually set by estimation of distance. Focus range is 3 feet to infinity.
Lens labeled "Leidolf Wetzlar Triplon 1:2.8 f = 5cm."
Interchangeable lens mount of a unique design, in a Pronto four speed shutter, 1/25, 1/50. 1/100, 1/200, plus B.
Connector post for synchronized flash.
Mechanical self-timer.
Two stroke lever advance.
Loads normal 35 mm 24 x 36 mm negative size.
This was another find from the five dollar table at Belleville Flea Market.
I have another Adams that I purchased in Kansas City about 15 years ago, pretty much identical except that the black and the white are reversed in the front "Adams" logo. A gallery of photos from that other camera was posted in 2013.
Crisp clear day for a walk at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, pleasing mid winter light.
I shot with ASA 200 film in the Adams in one direction, then mostly same subjects with a Pentax DSLR on the way back.
25 photos from a 24 exposure roll. I like this camera.
