Prewar Argus Parts with Post 2000 Pentax Body

I pulled this prewar 1941 Argus A3 lens/shutter unit out of a parts bin. Shutter was frozen open despite repair attempts, and it was missing the lens glass.
In another bin I found some lens parts of unknown origin (not an Argus A3) that fit the opening.
I drilled a hole in a Pentax K Mount body cap and secured the assembly into the hole.

Today was a perfect April day. Temperature climbed into the low 80's under a sunny blue sky.
So I mounted the little "monster" assembly to the front of a Pentax K110 d digital body and stepped out into the backyard.

This lens has no focusing capability, glass is at a fixed distance, set for subjects about 12 inches away.
But the aperture blades work fine, allowing me to vary depth of field.

Signs of fresh life were evident. All images were captured hand held.
And I think this odd collection of parts did a fine job.
