Lost Maples State Natural Area, located in the Texas Hill Country.

The images were made during a 1-1/2 day hike through the 12 or 13 miles of trails that make up this park. We tried to time it such that we would catch the 'Lost Maples' color change - you be the judge. The weather was perfect, low 40s at night, mid 70s during the day and not a cloud in the sky. The eight of us were awed by the brilliance of the nighttime stars and made a game of spotting satellites as they crisscrossed the sky.
