Falba 2013

Year 2013 was a very special gathering at Falba.

We come each year, without fail, to celebrate Tom my brother, who died September 7, 1988.
This was to be the 25th gathering. As in years past, the remaining Falba 5 members would
prepare the evening before to make the trip to Falba cemetery the next day.
This year was very different. About 5:00am I received the call that James, brother of Tom
and I, had passed in his sleep that morning. He had packed up his truck the evening before
and communicated with me that afternoon that he was eager to be at Falba for the 25th reunion.
Instead, he had passed on the very same day, September 7, that Tom passed 25 years earlier.

So the images below are a little different than usual.
The first row contains images taken a couple of weeks earlier when James, my son Michael and
Albert and his two sons Conrad and Grant visited Falba. Albert brought his sons so that they
could be introduced to the Falba tradition, to carry on after the last of the Falba 5 are gone.

The second row are images taken at Falba on September 7. Needless to say the folks that would
normally show were notified however the allure to celebrate Tom, and now James, brought a few
of us together for a short visit.

Following row two are images taken at the day of James' funeral. The last two images shown
were taken four weeks later.
