Our last full day in Switzerland also happened to be a Market Day in the city! Everything from clothing to produce is for sale in temporary pavilions located from the Waisenhausplatz to the Bundesplatz. The Bern drum corps was performing in the Kornhausplatz. A bonus was a mix of clouds and sun.

Hopefully, these photos should dispel the impression - perhaps communicated by earlier galleries - that Bern was a ghost town.

After doing some souvenir shopping of our own, we went to the rooftop Biergarten of our hotel for some excellent views of the city.

We departed early the next morning on the train directly to the Geneva airport, managed to connect in Frankfurt with the rigamarole about carrying liquids on board, and made it home in time for dinner.
