Rachel's Paradise Lost - Nottingham UK

We bought a really run down house in Sep 2000 with a wasteland for a back garden which sloped down all the way to the back wall of the house flanked by large leylandii on both sides. There was no conservatory then either. There was so much work to do in the house, and with our children being born in 2004 and 2005 that it really has taken us 9 years to get to the very top of the garden. Initially it was just too big for us to handle so we cut it in half with trellis and forgot about the top half until late 2007 when we levelled it out to make the childrens garden - this is now known as Pixie Hollow. 2009 saw major leaps forward for My Jungle garden as we finally got the hard landscaping done with a patio and BBQ added and a nice jungle path linking the deck with the childrens garden. this is now all on one level so they can ride their bikes along it.Our plans for this year 2010 are to add a roof to the deck to make it into a Balinese Bale style, adding lots of nice mature plants, a deep pond / water feature so i can grow big colocasias and to create a Fantasy Fairy garden in Pixie Hollow. Watch this space...
