Comprising an area measuring 60 feet by 24, this suburban garden had fallen into a somewhat decrepit state. Unfortunately the entire area was covered in 'weed-suppressing' membrane (pah!) and then finished off with loads of shingle. Needless to say the garden was absolutely 'chocker' with weeds. About 20 smallish shrubs were ripped out along with the Forsythia and a few small trees. This left a blank canvas which made an ideal start for my garden here in Sussex. My previous Liverpool garden had been potted up and transported to Sussex a year earlier so it was a great relief to get gardening again and let the plants start to root into soil after suffering for so long in pots.
