Hardy in the UK, it makes a narrow columnar shrub. Very happy in coastal locations. The conical panicles of small and insignificant flowers emit an extremely sweet fragrance in the evening after nightfall in summer, like stocks or Nicotiana. Reasonably fast growing and tolerant of pruning.
